YouNow: Live Stream App

What YouNow is for

YouNow is a live-streaming community. Broadcasters share video in real time while viewers watch, comment and follow creators. It is a place to participate in public broadcasts, not a dating app with mutual matching. A live chat can start a conversation, but comments and gifts do not establish a personal relationship.

Watching and going live

You can browse current broadcasts before deciding whether to participate. If you go live, your video and audio reach an audience and viewers can respond in chat. YouNow also supports audio-only broadcasting and guest participation in supported formats. The experience changes considerably depending on the creator, audience size and moderation of each stream.

Creator and viewer tools

Following a broadcaster helps you return to their future streams. Creators can build an audience through recurring live sessions; desktop broadcasting tools are available for people who want a more structured setup. Paid gifts and subscriptions are separate from simply viewing a stream, so set a budget before using them.

Devices and cost

YouNow has official Android and iPhone apps, and its website supports live viewing and broadcasting. Basic access is free, while virtual items and paid support for creators may cost money. Prices and eligibility for specific creator features can vary by region, account and store.

Privacy and moderation

Anything you reveal on a public broadcast may be seen, recorded or repeated by others. Avoid showing your home address, documents, school or workplace details on camera. Review privacy and moderation controls before going live, and block or report harassment rather than trying to resolve it in public chat.

When another app may fit better

YouNow suits someone who likes real-time creator communities and audience interaction. It is less suitable if you want private one-to-one friendship matching or deliberate dating discovery. Try watching streams first to see whether the community and format appeal to you before broadcasting or buying gifts.
