What is Azar: Video Chat, Meet Friends?

Global Connections at Your Fingertips

Azar is a random video chat application that connects adults for short conversations through swipe-based discovery. Operating in over 190 countries, it bridges cultural gaps and creates spontaneous friendships.

Swipe to Connect

The core mechanic of Azar is simple: swipe the screen to be instantly connected with a stranger via live video. The number of available conversations and waiting time depend on region, time of day, account status, and current demand.

Real-Time Translation

One of Azar's standout features is its built-in real-time translation. Built-in text and voice translation can help people communicate across languages, although automatic translation may miss context or nuance.

Safety and Moderation

Random video chat inherently carries risks. Azar utilizes AI-based monitoring software and a 24/7 moderation team to detect inappropriate behavior and nudity. Users can also report and block others easily. However, users should remain cautious as live video cannot be 100% filtered.

In-App Purchases (Gems)

While the basic swiping feature is free, Azar monetizes through 'Gems'. Users must spend Gems to filter their matches by specific genders or geographical regions, or to send virtual gifts to people they like.

Azar: Video Chat, Meet Friends — FAQ

How does the Azar app work?
Azar is an adults-only social video service that connects people for live one-to-one conversations across countries and cultures. Members create a profile, enter Video Chat, and are matched with another available user; optional discovery, translation, filter, and paid tools vary by platform and region. A match is a conversation opportunity, not identity or compatibility proof.
Is the Azar app free to use?
Azar can be downloaded and used for basic matching and video chat without a mandatory subscription, but some filters, discovery actions, gifts, and convenience features use Gems or paid plans. Free allowances and offers can vary by account, platform, and country. Review the current in-app price and conditions instead of relying on old reviews.
What is the current age limit for Azar?
Azar's current Community Guidelines require users to be at least 18 years old. Older terms and store pages may show a different historical rating, but the current platform rule is adults only. Do not attempt to bypass an age check, and report a user who appears to be underage through the in-call safety control.
How does Azar video chat matching work?
Starting Video Chat connects you with another available adult for a real-time camera conversation. Matching may consider current settings and eligible filters, and you can end or report a call. Azar may monitor transmitted content for moderation. Keep identifying details out of view, do not record or redistribute calls, and leave immediately if the interaction is uncomfortable.
What are Gems used for in Azar?
Gems are Azar's consumable in-app currency. They can be purchased or awarded through promotions and used for eligible paid actions, items, filters, or gifts shown in the app. They are different from a recurring subscription, have no guaranteed cash value, and may be lost after account deletion. Check the live price, use, and refund terms before buying.
What do Azar subscriptions include?
Azar has offered region- and platform-specific plans such as Video Chat Plus and several Plus, Premium, Core, Max, or Supreme tiers. Benefits and names change, so only the offer inside your account is authoritative. Azar ended iOS subscription benefits on April 6, 2026 while the app was unavailable from Apple's store; do not assume an Android or older plan exists on iOS.
Is the Azar video chat app safe?
Azar provides automated video moderation, reporting, blocking, an Azar Badge based on compliant activity, age checks, and human review. These tools reduce risk but do not guarantee another user's identity or conduct. Never send money or login codes, avoid exposing private documents or your location on camera, and use the shield report button when something feels wrong.
How does Azar age verification work?
Azar may scan the camera image before a call for signs that a person is under 18. In Australia, Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States it also uses a short video selfie with Yoti and FaceTec; unclear results can receive manual review or an ID-based appeal. The process estimates eligibility and is not a public identity badge.
How do I cancel an Azar subscription?
Cancel through the platform that processed the purchase, normally Apple Subscriptions or Google Play Subscriptions. Deleting the app or the Azar account does not cancel billing, and cancellation normally leaves access until the paid period ends without an automatic refund. Check the store confirmation; affected iOS subscriptions already stopped renewing under Azar's 2026 notice.
How do I delete my Azar account?
While signed in, open Profile, Settings, Manage Account, and Delete Account, then confirm. Azar says the profile disappears and can be restored with some information by signing back in within 90 days; after that, deletion proceeds under its privacy policy. Download needed data first and cancel any subscription separately because account deletion does not stop billing.
